LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Riaz Ahmed has decided to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The formal announcement will be made in PTI’s rally on May 20. Sources said all the issues pertaining to joining PTI have been settled in a meeting with PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Sources said Raja was angry with PPP leadership. A few days back he had claimed that some party stalwarts were trying to push him against the wall.
He went on to say that despite PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s intervention matters could not be resolved swiftly, therefore he has decided to join Imran’s party.
He had also requested for meeting with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto but could not get time from him. “I am political worker and will continue my mission to serve the masses,” he asserted.
Riaz was a member of the Punjab Assembly, having served as its leader of the opposition. He has also served as a minister for irrigation and mining.
