KARACHI: At least 16 suspects including four alleged Lyari gangsters were arrested during search operations in different areas of Karachi on Friday.
On a tip-off, the police and intelligence agencies raided a hideout in Lyari and arrested four alleged gangsters affiliated with Uzair Baloch gang. According to sources, the suspects were involved in a recent hand-grenade attack incident in Lyari.
Meanwhile, the police conducted search operations in Liaquatabad, Peeli Kothi and Bandhani Colony and apprehended three workers of a political party who were allegedly involved in heinous crimes.
Meanwhile, the police raided a hideout in Kharadar and arrested three suspects and recovered weapons and a stolen motorbike from them. Similarly, the police claimed to have arrested a street criminal in North Nazimabad and recovered a weapon from him.
Meanwhile, the police conducted search operations in Shanti Nagar graveyard and apprehended two alleged target killers identified as Azizur Rehman and Noshad Bangash.
SP Baldia Asif Razzaq said that the suspects were involved in targeted killings and street crimes. Furthermore, the he police conducted search operations in Baldia Town and arrested three Afghans for illegally living in the area.
