WAH CANTT: A Qatari delegation comprising Minister for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid Mohamed Al Attiyah, Qatari ambassador to Pakistan and other members visited the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) here on Saturday.
In his welcoming remarks, POF Board Chairman Omar Mahmood Hayat told the visiting delegation that the POF was the premier defence organisation of the country which was not only meeting defence requirement of the armed forces of Pakistan but also exporting its products to more than 40 countries around the globe. He said the POF was ready to meet the requirement of all types of conventional arms and ammunition of Qatar.
Briefing the delegation, Wah Nobel Group of Companies Executive Director Syed Naseem Raza told the delegation that the POF was a gigantic defence production complex with 14 independent production units, 11 subsidiaries and a work force comprising over 26,000 people. “The POF industrial base is strong enough to undertake development and production of all most all types of conventional arms and ammunition,” he said.
“I am happy to see what the POF can do to make our world safe,” the minister wrote down in the visitor’s book at the POF.
