ISLAMABAD: interim Prime Minister (PM) Nasirul Mulk on Wednesday summoned a session of the newly appointed federal cabinet to mull over placing names of Sharif family on Exit Control List (ECL).
According to sources, federal cabinet session will also be discussing issues pertaining to posting and transfer of chief secretaries and inspector generals of police (IGP).
The names of the proposed candidates for chief secretaries include Information secretary Sardar Ahmed Nawaz, power secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokar and trade secretary Younus Dagha.
Whereas, for the IGPs the names under consideration comprise of Basheer memon, Kaleem Imam, Hussain Asghar and Dr Shoaib Dastagir.
Earlier, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had requested the Interior Ministry to place names of Nawaz along with family on ECL as the accountability court is proceeding the NAB references in their final stages. NAB had written a letter to the interior ministry for the second time, requesting that names of Hasan and Hussain Nawaz to be placed on ECL as well.
Earlier, Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (r) Nasirul Mulk’s six-member cabinet took oath at the President’s House on June 6, with a pledge to run the affairs of the government during its two-month interim period till the power is transferred to an elected government following the general elections on July 25.
President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to Shamshad Akhtar, Abdullah Hussain Haroon, Roshan Khursheed Bharucha, Yousaf Shaikh, Azam Khan and Syed Ali Zafar.
The caretaker cabinet ministers have a lot of experience and expertise in their respective fields and are known as reputed personalities at home and abroad.
